Keep your stone in top shape with
just a few simple steps!

How to Clean & Care for Your Pizza Stone

Biscotto stone

First Use:

1

Wash the Biscotto stone thoroughly with water to remove any dirt or residue.

2

Let the stone air dry completely until no moisture remains.

3

Once dry, place the stone in your home oven and heat it at 50°C (122°F) for 30 minutes.

4

After 30 minutes, your Biscotto stone is ready to use.

5

Place the Biscotto in your pizza oven with the smooth side facing up.

Cleaning guide:

1

Allow the stone to cool completely before cleaning.

2

Use a spatula or cloth to gently remove any food debris.

3

Rinse the stone with water only.

4

Let it air dry before storing or using it again.

5

Once dry, the Biscotto stone is ready for your next cooking session.

Important Note:

Never use the Biscotto stone while it’s still wet, as moisture can cause it to crack or flake. Always make sure it’s fully dry before use for the best results.

Biscotto stone

1

Let it cool completely
Always allow the stone to cool down before cleaning – sudden temperature changes can cause cracks.

2

Skip the soap and water
Never use soap, detergent, or soak your stone in water — it’s porous and can absorb liquids and odors.

3

Scrape off residue
Use a spatula or scraper to gently remove any baked-on food or crumbs.

4

Wipe it down
Use a dry cloth to wipe off loose debris. For tougher spots, use a stiff brush or a slightly damp cloth.

5

Let it dry thoroughly
If you’ve used a damp cloth, make sure the stone is completely dry before storing or using it again.

6

Store in a dry place
Keep your stone in a dry, well-ventilated space to avoid moisture buildup.

Tip:

Over time, your stone will darken and develop a natural seasoning — this is completely normal and helps create even crispier pizza crusts!
